Je suis entre deux (2012 – 2013)
Je suis entre deux ("I am between two") is a series that engages the thematic materials of translation, illegibility and understanding that occur between peoples, languages, images and specific places. The work seeks to untangle the inner logic of translation and missed translation between image, being, location and experience. Through movement research, it aims to explore the ways in which our humanness is exposed when we try to understand each other, as well as make present the not-so-poetic moments that occur when people stop trying to understand. Je suis entre deux plays with the notion of two-ness that can occur when we live between the gaps, spaces and articulations of places, homes and languages.
